Old 500 upgrading to 1000

So I have an older non-x-controller version of the xcarve. I have upgraded to the dewalt 611. Looking to expand to the 1000x1000 size now. I’ve been happy with the machine as is. What do I need to buy to upgrade for expanding size? What SHOULD upgrade while I’m at it? Is there a bundle answers my needs specifically?

I am in the process of upgrading my old 500x500 to 1000x750mm.
As part of the rebuild I am doing this:

  • 3GT 9mm belts, pulleys and idlers. Consider wider belts or some with bigger teeth.
  • 1 piece X axis.
  • I’ve ditched the 2020 extrusions and gotten V-slot 2040 instead. For some reason it is cheaper for me to get hold of… Yay!
  • New Y plates for some extra Z heigh
  • Y rail support

Drag chain is a drag (ha!) when upgradring from 500 to 1000.
Think that one over a couple times extra before ordering things…

aka - don’t do like me… I failed and waiting for more parts sigh

That is my concern. Was kind of hoping someone has a part list that I can just order or if there was a pre-bundled kit offered. I appreciated the all-in-one nature of the parts/directions that came with the system when i bought it. I was hoping to avoid best-guessing what i needed.

All-in-one is a myth in this context!

Roll your own XC!

How’d you make out on this upgrade? I’m thinking of doing the same thing.
