I was milling up some old MDF I had laying around garage and ran out, I got some new stuff and what a difference in the cut.

Moisture content from how you stored it? The newer stuff was probably inside a stack and so was kept drier perhaps…

Yes, moisture is the problem from being stored in a hot and humid to cold and dry garage for a year or two

maybe a dehumidifier and heater for a week would bring it back to being “crisper”
I’m not even going to worry about, if I need to use MDF for anything I’ll just get some new stuff
