Opening Imported G-Code

Hey everyone,

We’re making some changes to the way Easel opens G-Code, because of feedback we received regarding the current behavior. Here are the details:

If you import G-Code with an empty workpiece open, then the imported G-Code will occupy that workpiece (as it does currently). Additionally, if the workpiece is untitled, then it will be named after the imported file.

If you import G-Code with a non-empty workpiece open, then the imported G-Code will be opened in a new workpiece which is again named after the imported file.

Finally, if your current project is also untitled and there is only one workpiece, then the project will be named after the imported file.

These changes will be live in the next couple days. We appreciate your feedback on the forum, and we are continually striving to make easel better and easier to use for all members of the maker community!

Update: These changes are now live

Thanks,
George

Yes, good question! The imported gcode files will always have their own workpiece, and you can import multiple gcode files as part of a single project. Also, these changes are now live.

Thanks,
George
