Did this for my sister, a huge OU fan. I’m more of an OSU fan, but hey, I did it. 
Made it from oak, in two different pieces. used minwax to color the football, and a lighter color for the OU logo. Then went over the entire thing with polycrylic which darkened the stiching on the football, but came out decent.
