Painting Staining Finishing Techniques

I have done about a hundred very nice carves on pine. I paint them black, or stain them dark espresso, and carve through them for the light pine to show through. That’s how I do all my designs. Never painted letters, or did face white with stained letters or anything. I see a lot of you have very detailed painted parts, or nice contrast color or stained signs. Feedback on people’s techniques or ideas?

This is an awesome option, and can really save time since you are only painting one color and then using the natural wood underneath.
