Pantograph Monogram

I do not have an X Carve yet. However, I am trying to create a monogram using a pantograph. I am creating it in red oak.

I was using a 60 degree V-bit to do the engraving, but I am wondering if a different bit would be a better choice. Any suggestions?

Here is what I am trying to carve.

a 60 degree bit will work fine.

Sharper tip bits will make carving fine detail easier, but it will cut deeper into the stock.

So it’s up to you to make the best choice for the job

I picked up a Whiteside .125 downcut bit yesterday at the local Woodcraft store. That worked well, but I cant wait to order an XCarve.

That’s ok. Old English font has nothing but round corners.
