Oh i mostly use center 0,0 as well. Some projects when fully cutting out stuff ill use front left though.
I dont really love the idea of homing after setting x,y (and in this scenario mainly z zero) becsuse the limit switches arent 100% identical every singe time, theres always some debounce and varables that will make the triggering ever so slightly off, up to like 0.2mm max but that amount can effect certain carves, depending on the accuracy needed, and moreso if belts are used on the cnc.
But if that tiiiiny variance is okay, then you could do that.
But That process is basically what setting a g28 posion does. It is a saved position, so i would home, then click a button to move to the presaved g28 and then use that position for x,y and probe for Z.
