Often, the best bit will vary depending upon the materials being used.
V-bits can be a good choice for sign making. 60 degree and 90 degree bits are generally good unless you need very fine detail.
When you through cut plywood, compression bits will do a good of leaving a clean edge. They will work with regular wood and plastics as well, but other bits can be used.
I have bits from many sources. I have some Freud bits from Home Depot. I have some Amana V bits with very specific angles that I ordered online. I also have some bits from Whiteside and Cadence Manufacturing. I have some very cheap, thin bits I ordered from Amazon which are prone to breaking. With these, I can use the CNC machine to make things you would normally do with a scroll saw.
