New to cnc carving here, could use some help figuri g out why this happens. I get a rough cut dot above my letters. I have set my Home using my limit switches and I didnt move my project between rough and finish cut.
Try it again, with a different font, and post the results.

Just curious why do you think a different font would be better ? Have you have similar outcomes from some fonts ?
The one I used here is from Easel program, I would have thought it would have cut perfectly fine.
It’s not the font, it could be many things, but it looks fairly consistent. yet inconsistent enough to not be a gcode error. I would look at belts and wheels and check the parts for tightness and slippage, rocking etc.
See how the error happens in roughly the same spot on almost all the letters? Its not on the c but its on the e and the a in the same place. Its inconsistent or less pronounced on diferent letters like the top of the M or in two places on the h and even the lower part of the a. I am wondering if it is the carriage that holds the router is loose and you may need to tighten up the play in the wheels. The issue is there are may moving parts and it all needs to be tight . But it is defianatly not a font issue
