Interesting about the poor luck you folks have had with the adapter. All the times I have had bits break I would pin on a shift in the wood (not held down securely enough or tabs broke and it came loose) or lost steps causing the bit to be taking a .5" - .75" DOC - they snap pretty quick, but generally don’t go far when they are buried in the wood like that. 1/8" collet is on my list for some time, but the adapter is working well enough for me for the time being.
