New cnc owner here and I’m trying to figure this machine out. Should my spindle be able to reach every corner of my spoil board? If I toggle my Y axis all the way down my spindle will stop prior to the edge but if I toggle it all the way up it will overshoot the board. Did I install the spoil board wrong?
Can you show a picture? Carefully jog( move )your Z axis all the way left and right and front to back. That’s all you get…:-).
Perhaps the coupler to the motor is not as tight as it could be. Maybe turn it by hand to even it out when the coupler hex screw is loosened and then re-tighten the hex screw. Under the table is an anti backlash nut, if it is like mine.
Are you able to get your spindle to each corner of the spoilboard? My brain is thinking the aluminum board is on wrong but I can’t figure it out.
On the X axis, the bit will go nearly to the ends of the table. On the Y, the bit will stop over the groove in the table. This what I have:
Anthony.
It appears that the machine has been incorrectly assembled but is easily fixed.
Unplug all cables,power,_PC etc.
Carefully tip CNC upside down.
2 guide blocks fit in the first T-nut slot
The other 2 guide blocks fit in the 3rd slot.
The Nut Support block should be in the centre slot.
You should be able to put this right without pulling the whole thing apart, although it may entail a bit of bad language.
I hope this helps,cheers for now,Ben.
