Setting width of cut using pen tool

I just started using Easel and it isn’t apparent to me on how to set the width of cut when using the pen tool. As an example I wanted to make a slot 1/4 inch wide and 3 inches long. Can someone explain to me how to do it?

Draw line with the pen tool approx length you want.
Then select line go to shape and there you can set your length.
for 1/4 width use 1/4 bit.

Open vectors such as a line will only cut on path.
If you only have 1/8" bit then use the rectangle tool and make the width and length to you dimensions and set cut to fill.

Thanks for the response. I ended up using the rectangle tool but thought maybe there was a way to change the width on the pen tool.
