No, it doesn’t start a day till you hit carve. You can design as much as you want.

…and “a day” = a 24hr window of carving time starting from when you hit “Carve”.

You will use a day if you save the G-Code file. so it is not just when you hit the green carve button but also when you go into advanced and save g-code as well.
