Stepper motors high pitch noise

I don’t know what happened. I was just about to start another carve and my Y axis motors started making a horrible high pitch noise. I had just homed the machine and did a G30. Just like any other day and then it just went crazy and also can’t move the Y axis. I have tried to eliminate as much as I could. I unwired one of the Y axis but it still did it in the other. I tried switching my X axis and Y axis motors on the gshield and the X motor started making the noise. So it seems to be the gshield. I also tried changing the pot for voltage and that didn’t do anything. Any thoughts? How could this problem just start out of nowhere?

Here’s a video:

Electronics. It’s the nature of the beast.

It does seem like your gShield has a bad driver chip.
