Stl import not doing model but whole square

why is it not roughing just the model? its cutting a square

it seems to rough but after its cut out the square of the layout? also there are tabs ( removed ) but I just want to start roughing onthe top

If you are converting from an image to an stl in some other program, you may want to try image trace in Easel, as it worked for another person this week.
