Over the years I have read about all the X-Axis upgrades to the older (original) X-Carve. The newest X-Carve version (1000mm) uses a different system. I am going to be using a water cooled spindle, which is slightly heavier that the DeWalt. I’m also going to be using the CNC4Newbie Linear Z shown here;
I’m guessing that will also be adding additional weight. Is a stiffening upgrade warranted, or is the new single piece X-Axis that’s currently used by Inventables more than strong enough?
