I have been using the “clamps” that came with my FA Masuter Standard and not really a fan of them. I have seen a video of someone using painters tape and some kind of apoxy spray to hold their substrate down. Would double sided carpet tape work instead of the spray?
That’s blue painters tap and CA glue.
It works great.
You don’t need the accelerant…
I understand that from the video, but will double stick tape work as well?
@KeithAnderson , two sided tape works quite well in many cases, it is a little bit harder to use, and you have to have the right kind of tape, 3M works well, some of the off brand tapes are not sticky enough.
I cant comment on that.
The only thing I’ve used is the blue tape and CA glue.
I see a lot of people posting about this tape in other forums.
But Personally, I use the Blue Tape and CA Glue
Depending on what I am doing, may use blue tape & CA, two sided tape, wooden hold down clamps bolted to threaded inserts or t-track, or a fence with wedges pushing the workpiece against bench dogs.
On the vertical table, I hold the work against a fence (gives me a known XY location, & as there is no chance of the router hitting them I often use toggle clamps and also have a poor man’s moxon vise with nylon pads.
The easiest clamping is on the vertical table, doing box joints I can put a part in in about 20 seconds.
