Yea I screwed up planing during fly cutting I ended up with two pieces 12.5mm. Hopefully should be thick enough. My phone is a 6S instead of a 6 and I saw their dimensions are ever so slightly different to the tenth of an inch. So I may have to make more blanks, next time I'm going to try to use Carvey to make the phone blanks.
I'm using a Carvey to do this which has a smaller bed and the smart clamp, so my plan is to make the fixture first, I put the fixture in the smart clamp and marked on the spoil board the position. I offset the spoil board 1 inch x and y to move away from the smart clamp, and then centered the pocket and pins on the rest of the spoil board manually entering the x-y center positions of the pocket and pin objects.
Then I plan to clamp the phone blank an inch offset x-y from the smart clamp and center the x-y of the pin holes on the phone blank to drill the pin holes.
Then put the fixture back in, put the phone blank in the fixture, clamp, and then hopefully center the back and front carves using the same one inch offset x-y and then centering the same spot the fixture pins were carved...
Hopefully this works.
This is the fixture, I added a few holes that I'm going to thread for clamping the phone blank.
This is the pin holes, offset 1" away from the smart clamp, and centered on the phone blank. I plan to put a piece of foam underneath the phone blank for the through cut and the total thickness is .75" and I set the pin holes to cut through to .25" I might have to stick a dummy piece of .75" material in the smart clamp, not sure.
