Would anyone have any tips on feed rates etc for laser etching on clear acrylic with the J-Tech 3.8W laser?
Nathan, the nature of the J-tech laser is such that it cannot etch directly onto clear acrylic. The beam will pass straight through it and burn the wood underneath. There are 2 methods, which I haven’t tried yet, to do it as I have read. One is to etch it with the paper liner still installed. The other I have read about is a wet piece of paper on top.
@picengravertoo probably has the most experience and can chime in.
I have no experience etching acrylic personally, but some of our customers had successful results with different colors.
