Tool plunged uncontrollably when internet connection dropped out

So I just built an X-carve for a makerspace and people are starting to use it. I got a report from a user where the computer that is controlling the xcarve using Easel lost internet service during the cut and the tool uncontrollably dove down through the piece and through the wasteboard. No real harm, but this behavior really concerns me. Has anyone seen this, or have any idea what could have caused this? We will be running an ethernet cable to the network closet for a hard-wired connection. I’m just concerned about if we lose internet connection in general. I’ve already have had people suggest some other software, but just wondering people’s reaction/suggestions here.

Thanks
