It looks like he only clamped it down on one side, with just one clamp. Really surprised that did not work.
I do unattended carves all the time. Many times I do them overnight, I just donât usually do them with something I have not carved before.
FWIW:
My Makita died on Sunday after 4years of on&off use.
I did a carving outside in the garden due to length of stock and apparently during a retract it didnt and went double down (=almost a full inch in MDF)
This overloaded the Makita RPM governor (heard pops and some smoking escaping out from the top.
Despite only needing 2s to reach the OhhCrap-button the damage was done.
However - when the RPM-governor went toast the router go to full speed. (27k)
I dont know how the stock Dewalt611 fare in a similar scenario butâŚfood for thoughtâŚ
