What is the best practice with a dual-bit job? I have jobs that use 1/8" followed by a 1/16" detail bit. When I set the initial XY Zero point with the 1/8" bit, does X-Carve Pro work better on the detail pass if I use last XY, or should I set XY again with the smaller bit? I am thinking that the 0 point, as gauged from the edge of the bit, will be different? Or should I be trying to set XY zero at the center of the 1/8" bit? I might need a magnifying glass if that is the case.
need to re-zero second bit/cutting tool (same X Y location) without changing X and Y
The process for the zcarve pro, since the safety manual states that the power should be off during a bit change it is more difficult than it really needs to be.
First carve:
Home
Probe z
Set x,y
Carve
Power off
switch bit
Home
Probe z
Position spindle directly atop original x,y
Select “use last x,y”
Carve
XY position is never at the edge of the bit.
It is at the center.
This is corect!
@MarkA.Bachman Thanks for mentioning that, somehow in my speed reading I missed those 2 whole sentences!! Good catch!
That would qualify you for a management position.
