I did swap them all out at once. Considered going one at a time, but after upgrading the motors and still having the issue, I was pretty much over it haha. They were generic 542’s off of amazon. Guess that’s the risk you take buying counterfeit huh? 
For now, happy to be back up and running. I may look into the 556’s down the road. Really, the noise on the steppers isn’t louder than the router, so, it’s not an actual issue, it was just impressive that they were almost silent. Given the choice between loud and accurate, I’ll choose accurate every time
