What is the best and most affordable LARGE bed CNC?

Hey Everyone -
It’s been a while since I posted here but was a very active poster back in the day. I am looking for help from the community. I need something like this:

BUT:

  1. Don’t want to wait until 2021
  2. Don’t necessarily need the electronics (I prefer to build my own)
  3. Needs to be less than $15,000
  4. It has to be rock solid because I work with metals and wood.
  5. Bed can be bigger but not smaller.
  6. router/spindle does not matter - I’d probably change it anyway.

Seems a big ask. But this Tormach model is proof that it exists. I am sure that somewhere in this community, someone has an answer.

Interesting. This is 24x55 for $14,000. For another $5,000 and they will throw in a pendant and Aspire. Of course I could get a 24X48 Axiom Precision with pendant from Woodcraft for $4,999.

When I think of a “Large Bed” I think of something that can take a 4’X8’ sheet of plywood. When I think of something pushing $20K, I think of closed loop Nema 23s.

You should take topics like this to CNCZone where the big boys hang out.

@HarryC.Ragland mentioned Axiom Precision. This is very close to what I am looking for:

I suspect there are alternatives, but thank you Harry for the lead. I will put a call into them tomorrow.
