Wood selection assistance needed

That is super cool brother. On the Joiner I will tell you it.is a pain in the a** to master. I get straighter joints using my table saw. I have a joiner, but have used it maybe once in 3 years. I use the planer weekly though.

A jointer is not to straighten, it is to provide a straight edge for glue up or finish. If you have a table saw, cut a 3" wide x 8’ x 3/4" plywood strip. Place the bowed edge of the crooked board against the straight edge of the plywood and measure the narrowest width of both. Set rip fence to that width, plywood strip against fence and push board and strip together to cut off the hump (side opposite of the rip fence). Then set rip fence to the narrowest width of the board, (place cut side against fence) and cut off the bow. Now you have two parallel edges to be joined.
