Working with thicker (.5-.75") bamboo ply

I’ve read how bamboo splits and splinters easily, and is quite hard - I was curious if anyone had experience with cutting through bamboo ply at a half inch, or more. If so, bit choice and settings? Or is it a lot to ask, regardless, of an xcarve to cut smoothly and consistently with this material?

I have cut 5/8" bamboo before with a 1/8" upcut and have used a 1/8" downcut with good results.
