X-Carve in New Zealand

Looking at getting a 1000x1000 one.

Has anyone here used or know of the XYZ Carve from 3DTek in Australia. Looks pretty much like an X-Carve but way cheaper to get to NZ.

Hey Angus. Yeah, it looks pretty much the same just with a bit of difference in propriety hardware. Iā€™m trying to find some people who have used one but thereā€™s not much online about the machineā€¦

Sorry for the lack of updates. But Iā€™m in the process of making my wasteboard from a sheet of MDF from Bunnings. Then Iā€™ll be assembling my 1000mm x-carve from parts I sourced from Inventables and Aliexpress.

Iā€™m based in Christchurch if anyone wants to connectā€¦

Hey there Bros. Iā€™m a Wellingtonian living in the west island (Melbourne). I got my 1000mm X-carve late last year when there was a free international shipping deal. Iā€™ve since upgraded to 1500 x 1000 with height riser end plates, y axis stiffeners, 9mm belting and the bigger stepper motors. Iā€™ve also added a relay to have the X-controlelr switch on the Dewalt router.

My suppliers are:
Adam's Bits | eBay Stores for bits and the 1500 rails
https://3dtek.xyz for steppers and lots of other parts. Ben is Canberra based and offers an x-carve variant which might cost less to ship to UnZud
https://tbdcnc.com for the 9mm belt and riser/stiffener

All are highly recommended.

Cheers Dean.

Hi there new to the forum, silly question did you all by through inventables or is there nz supplier? And how much land for the 1m table

Hi @Andrewo_donnell

Welcome to the forum. I believe most of us have purchased most of our machines from Inventables in the US and had them shipped to NZ. You can cut down on costs of shipping if you leave off the wasteboard kit and make one here. As for total cost of having the machine shipped, that will depend on how much of it is shipped and what import fees will beā€¦ some of my packages just came to my door and others go held up with payment needed at the port.

Itā€™s been a while since I had mine shipped, but when I was doing the mathā€¦ even with the import fees, the X-carve was still cheaper than anything I could easily order here in NZ.

I know it wasnā€™t as detailed on the numbers as you were probably wanting, but I hope that helps some.

Cheers Jeremy, thatā€™s all handy info.

Hi guys Iā€™ve just joined up to this thread and Iā€™m thinking of getting a xcarve maybe this time next year.
I realize this was not the right place but at age 64 Iā€™m new to all this. I was also thinking of a secondhand unit.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Paul

First of all: welcome!
Second: If you have any questions regarding the xcarve I suggest reading the forum, there is a LOT of valuable information available. If you have any questions you canā€™t find an answer just create a new thread and ask your question, Iā€™m sure youā€™ll find someone who has an answer to your question
If you have any other questions regarding the forum or the xcarve feel free to send me a private message, I would be glad to help.

Thank you I will do that and send you a message if I need to .
I have has a quick look at the forum and will look more instead of wasting so much time on Facebook.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum. I canā€™t come to New Zealand but I can help you learn and see the XCarve in action by watching my videos. They are designed to help the new folks to this wonderful world of CNC. Here is the link. www.youtube.com/c/pawpawsworkshop

Hi Phillip I already watch your videos and love them all. I will go back and look at some of your early videos so please keep the great work up.
