X-Carve midwest

Hello,
Interested in buying an x-carve pro 4x4, but I want more information from users.
Any users in the Midwest want to share their experiences? I’d love to see how you are using your machine.

Thanks

What do you want to know? Why the midwest?

  • I’m located outside Louisville, KY, and I use my X-Carve for all kinds of things.
  • I make ornaments, signs, shop tools, lots of gifts, made my shop cabinets, and a whole lot more.
  • I’ve only actually done the 2.5D carving so far, though I hope to try out the 3D carving soon.
  • It has it’s quirks, but it honestly is about a perfect fit for my use cases and shop (which is in my basement). I would never have room for a 8’ table, so the ability to tile lets me carve bigger pieces. I wouldn’t have been happy with the 2x4, because it’s really too small for a lot of things I want to build (i.e., furniture and cabinets).
  • I liked the fact that Easel runs on my Mac, so I don’t have to have a dedicated Windows machine just to run VCarve or something, but at the same time I can always switch software if I want.

For me, it’s a tool that opens up options, while also giving my a second helper in the shop so I can be doing something else (e.g., sanding) while it’s working. It’s also brought a nice level of precision to my work, and helped me translate digital design to the real world. But these aren’t specific to the X-Carve Pro.
