I have just uploaded a video showing 3 general improvements to the X-Carve. I show a method to level the base board (provided it is not too far out), the Matt Wheeler X axis stiffening (and I test its effectiveness) and the installation of the eccentric spacers which are an improvement on the eccentric nuts supplied with the original machine.

I too have the shallow cut on the right side of the machine, so I am looking forward to trying that adjustment to see if I can improve my V-bit carves as they are a real issue now. Very good information and thank you for it.
