Xcarve wasteboard length

This may be a stupid question. Soo I just bought my xcarve and it comes in on Saturday, so I am obviously on easel already making up designs. Now my question is lets say I need to carve and area of 12" by 15" but the actual item I am going to carve is 20" by 36". I see the xcarve is open ended. So will the item fit and be able to be carved?

Yes, you can do that. I made this Workbench/Desk for my son and each shelf is 24" x 48". The Dodgers logo was carved on my X-carve as were the cut outs for the lower shelves.
