update: I am able to get the spindle left/right/up/down though Eastlcam. I am, however get Easel and Lightburn to play with the x-controller. I’m going to take a little break see if I can find more info. Thank you.
With the info from my forum buddies and Giovanna and John from Inventables my machine Is up and running again. Thank you all

How did you solve this issue? I think I have the same problem. I installed and played around in Eastlcam and now nothing works with Easel.
I reflashed the GRBL and verified the code settings
Can you tell me how I can refresh the Grbl?

unfortunately without success :o(
i hear the chime when you plug in the USB cable. But “carve” button stay blue.
3 days before i have a successful cuts (connect with my macbook).
I try it with windowsbook, even without success.
I am despairing and thankful for any advice
it runs again 
Point 9. was the cause:
Network settings prevent Easel from communicating with the Easel Driver
