Z axis has been making a funny noise

Z axis has been making a rubbing noise but I cannot pinpoint the cause. Hit the bearing with some wd40 thinking that was the source didn’t change at all.

Tried making a short vid says file size too big to post

My z has been making a rubbing/squeaking sound as well. Hit the acme rod with lube and it quieted right down. Need to do it again, probably with something different to see if I can get it to last longer. It will probably help having a dust boot (still don’t have one on there yet).

Try PTFE dry lube. find it at the B.O.R.G… (Big Orange Retail Giant aka: Home Depot)

Kinda messy and will leave a white residue where ever it lands, careful application will help, but it works well and wont attract dust like oils will.

Lubed the rod and ran it up and down a few times and perfect now. Thanks

I use this and give my z-axis a squirt before each carve.
