You are correct. However, the original Xcarve 2.0 instructions had the same wording as the upgrade instructions and they were changed after the first upgrade/Xcarve 2.0 batch came out.
In fact, @ZachKaplan, you may want to have your team update the Xcarve Upgrade instructions if all new Xcontrollers need their pots adjusted when received.
