The first couple of times that I used the X Carve, I was prompted to use the Z Probe for setting the height of the bit. It no longer prompts me. Is there a setting that needs to be changed or is it only for initial setup?
You should probe the Z-Axis for every project you start to carve or every bit change you make when using multiple bits for a project.

Welcome to the forum
You may need to go back through the “Setup your machine” steps if it is no longer prompting you to use the probe. Yes it should be used every time you start a carve
