Zero clearance insert - cutting to dimension

Hello,
I am looking to make zero clearance inserts and looking at cutting the piece to dimension to get an exact fit.
If my saw opening is 2 inches in a circle, do I set my cut setting to be 2 inches and “cut outside the line” ?
I am using a 1/8 inch upcut bit.
Please advise,
thanks,
Martin

Yes. Do a trial it and test the fit. Adjust the 2 inch either bigger or smaller as needed to make a perfect fit. Calibration is usually off slightly. On my machine I usually have to make my hole size about .003 smaller. Every cnc will be different. I not willing to try to get that small amount of error out of the machine. That level of tolerance works for what I’m doing
