110v or 220v? Best option?

Lower current = less loss in the wire = less voltage drop at the machine

Lower current = smaller wire size for a given run length = less money

Lower current = less heat build up in the motors = longer life


I believe that 220 also helps with motor startup, increasing brush life. (Don’t quote me!) :smile:

I^2*R = heat. Double the voltage, half the current. Less heat = longer life
