Hi.everyone I have a silly question but has anyone used button momentary switches as limit switches. I have had the thought as they are usually set as no. just the same as micro switch.
This is my OPINION: The push button switch is not designed for a hard press and will not last long when the metal carriage runs into it. You’re much better off taking the time and money to install proper microswitches designed for this service. The leaf spring on the microswitch will absorb some of the energy from the carriage striking it and extend its life. I’ve found you must re-zero a CNC machine a lot! My motto is “Buy the best and cry only once.”
The CNC4NEWBIeS z-axis has the push button micro switches built in.
