My brother is a fisherman. I am not. I tried to use MDF to do this. At present MDF was a mistake. I think MDF means mighty dusty fibers.
Lesson Learned: if you choose MDF to do a project realize the time you spend making the project it worth the money to use a good word.

I use MDF on my most products, especially 3D faced Wall Clocks. But I can see your MDF is very low quality. Try to find premium MDF.
Here is one simple example. Notice D Marin logo, how thin is. No broken edges.
