Adding a bit to the toolbox not working

I try to add a bit to the toolbox but it does not show up in the list of bits, not sure why. Easel says it’s been added but it does not show in my toolbox. I’ve never had this issue before, any help appreciated, thank you

You can only use vbits in the 2.5d workspace (no imported stl file).
You can only use ball bits in the 3d workspace (after importing a stl file).

Could this explain your issues?

i suppose, i’m just trying to add a ballnose. I’ve added many custom bits before

If you’re wanting to use the ballnose bit for anything other than the finishing pass of a 3d carve (after importing a stl file) then you’d need to enter it as an endmill and trick easel…
