Carve with Multiple Bits

Hi all… I wonder if anyone can help me with an issue I am having? I have a X-Carve with the standard Dewalt 611 Router. I am left-handed and it is a little awkward changing the bits due to where the shaft lock is located. When I do a Multi-bit Carve, and have to change bits in the middle of the carve, I sometime accidentally bump and move the router.

  • Is there a way to get my original position back it I move the router while changing bits?

  • Should the router be this easy to bump out of position?

  • Is there an enhanced after market chuck for the 611 Router that would make bit changes easier?

Thank you in advance,
Cam

Why not turn the router around 180 degrees to ease the bit changing. Also if you have your $1 setting set to $1=255 that helps and you can also change your dip switches to help.
