Has anyone changed the physical location of the z-axis limit switch to lessen the height of z-axis homing?

for instance you want to reduce the travel of the Z axis so it homes quicker?
You could lower the switch to accomplish that using longer mounting screws and spacers. another option would be to increase the seek rate used when homing and that would make the homing cycle faster…
