CNC Penny help

Hello all, I have had dream of making a giant penny for a long time- I just cant find anything with enough detail, and the scans don’t seem to work out very well.

Would like make it at least 3 feet across- can anyone help?

I took the JPG and put it into Inkscape for you. At least now you have something to work with.

that is awesome, i was just playing with it- What I’m trying to do is make a 3D penny, starting with a piece of MDF, and want to carve out the penny. The idea is that the Lincoln and the writing will stand proud of the background- like a regular penny. How would I do that?

In Easel, I don’t know. In a 3d program you could probably explode the unit into its parts, delete what you don’t want, move them, and reconnect them. This is probably something Inkscape or Illustrator can do easily. I really don’t know much about those programs myself. I could barely do what I did. :-).

thanks much, this is much better…i have the file sitting in my account- don’t want to buy it here at school, so Ill wait till i get home and am on my computer

Hello David, if you have problems scaling the image, you can send it to me and I will try to scale it in Aspire 11.5 and then make a new STL. I don’t know if that will work, but we can try.
