CNC4NEWBIE upgrade X-Carve 750

Hi I have a question about the CNC4newbie upgrade.

I have changed the X; Y and Z axis with the steppers 269oz. The controller is still the x carve controller.
My question is if you change the stepper motors you have to adjust the power at the controller for the stepper motors? And if yes how can I do this.

You may want to inquire as to the current you need for those motors.
