Starting to test out resin blanks for box mods and also other custom projects

This is very cool, I have so many questions for you!
Did you make the blanks yourself? What material is the resin? Is there a bunch of wood embedded in the blanks? Did you purposefully plan to have part of the shape be different materials? How did you finish the parts (sanding, lacquer, etc)?
I’m starting to make my own blanks and size molds for different projects. There’s different resins out there but this was just casting resin. You can put wood into it and also anything that can cast and is dry do to resin or certain ones don’t like moisture so parts will need to be super dry or the wood needs to be stabilize and dryed out. There’s some blanks that you can just mix up colors with different dyes and powders that give it a nice look and also wood and the colors can make it pop out. Other people turn the blanks in a lathe for duck calls and vases. Really it’s whatever can be done to make a custom piece it looks like and mainly mine will be for vape boxes for vapers that are quiting smoking and projects like the phone holder which that part I milled. If your looking to make blanks and want no air bubbles you will have to get a pressure pot to cure the parts also.
Also after the parts done you can spray a clear coat and also polish the resin to give it a high gloss shine.
New miter saw and table saw to cut blanks down and clean and starting onto prototyping for box mods.

Some more custom blanks soon to sell and mill on the x carve.
