Cuts with detail bit

Hello, can someone tell me what Iam doing wrong. I am cutting out a raised letter sign and using a down cut bit for first cut. Everything is fine I then do the detail bit change go back and zero out bit. It cuts out with no problem but looks like there are cuts going across the board. Thanks for your help

your downcut bit is resulting in the gantry beam flexing up, and the workpiece flexing down and as a result not cutting as deep as desired… this effect can be reduced my employing a thin final pass (using math and the depth per pass setting)
Also ensuring the Z Zero for each bit is set exactly the same is important…
And having a robustly designed CNC helps to reduce those deflections in the frame… but ya know, sometimes we pay for cheap things and get what we get…
