My cuts changed in between projects and I didn’t change any details. I need help

The natural wood is the star I want and started with. When I went to start on my painted wood it blew the star out, and I didn’t change any settings. Also after it won’t do the vcarve now,it routes out the star like a normal bit.
Share the easel project so we can look.
Same thickness wood ?
i tried replicating your issue and got a similar effect when the star was changed from fill to outline. could that be it?

looks like you didn’t re-zero your Z to the new piece of wood. I make flags on my machine and have had that issue. it doesn’t take much to blow out the corners of a star.
