After having quite a few initial problems, burning out my original spindle, than having issues with calibration and slipping here is my first successful test carve.

Very slick, what material is that?
Just a 2x2 piece of birch ply from Menard’s. It’s about 1/2" thick.

wow! care to share your steps? and finishing?
Right now its bare wood, I’m actually unsure how to finish it as some of these cuts are remarkably small and I’m worried about sanding them.
