Fusion 360 Tool Library for Inventables Bits

Howdy,

I would like to try using Fusion 360 gcode with the Carvey and need to setup the CAM tools. Does anyone have a Fusion 360 Tool Library for the Inventables bits? This would be very helpful to a new user.

Thanks and have a great day.

There are a lot of values that I would just be guessing at so an Inventables bit specific library would be helpful as a starting point.

Let’s try adding a New Mill Tool in Autodesk Fusion 360 for the Inventables 1/16" Solid Carbide Upcut Fish Tail Spiral Bit. https://www.inventables.com/technologies/solid-carbide-upcut-fish-tail-spiral-bits

Cutter
Type: Flat End Mill ?
Material: Carbide
Coolant: No
Unit: Inches?
Clockwise Spindle Rotation: Yes?
Number of Flutes: 2?
Vendor: Inventables
Product ID: 30423-01
Description: 1/16" Upcut Fish Tail Spiral

Cutting Edge
Diameter: 0.0625"?
Shaft Diameter: 0.0625"?

Lengths
Flute Length: ???
Shoulder length: ???
Body Length: ???
Overall Length: ???

What does cutting length on the Inventables page correspond to? Is Overall length different from body length?

See lots of questions and that is just the first tab…

Stealing from the last link. Picture is worth a bunch of words.

In the case of a straight bit where the shaft diameter and diameter is the same there is no shoulder so the shoulder and body length would be the same.

Isn’t Fusion 360 smart enough to know not to carve deeper than the body shoulder length? So some info beyond diameter should be entered?

Fusion still carves it, but in the simulation it shows up as a collision.

How did you guys determine all of the data for “Feed and Speed?”

Do you let the program auto populate the data of is this something we have to figure out and play around with?
