Reviews seemed to be good, most of them all talk about using it on the HF unit so I went with it. Was only $30 shipped. Have to wait tho as I asked for it as a gift, doh!

Yes. I have the Powertec 1 micron from Amazon. I noticed no decrease in overall flow. It is slightly larger in diameter than the Harbor Freight bag and is difficult to secure with the stock clamp. A belt would probably work better. Also, the dust collector tends to backfeed during shutdown. Beware of sensitive electronics on the same circuit. It already blew a bridge rectifier in one of the pinball machines in the house requiring extensive soldering repair.
Why would the 1 micron bag change the electrical characteristics?

I converted my Harbor Freight dust collection system into two stage by building a Thien Baffle and mounting it on a 30 gallon barrel. Emptying the barrel is much easier than dealing with a full plastic trash bag.
