How do I know when my bits are dull?

I’m running a 1/4" compression bit, to do hundreds of pockets, and cut outs, in Pine, Poplar, and Cedar (I go around the knots).

How do I know when I should change my bit?

  1. When the cuts start looking fuzzy
  2. When the bit starts getting loud
  3. When the bit breaks

you should replace with a new bit when the bit being used becomes worn/dull

Ummm…that’s kinda obvious, Seth.
How do you tell when they’re worn/dull? By the way they look? The way they feel?
